From Tuscan Traditional to Modern Farmhouse

As with many 1990s homes in The Woodlands, this kitchen + living was in need of a refresh.

A twist on traditional, this kitchen + bath renovation added a butlers pantry to the floor plan, wooden accents throughout the first floor, and a gathering haven that we know friends and family will enjoy for many years to come.

We began where most homes built in The Woodlands in 1990s do: dark, traditional finishes, archways and compartmentalized spaces, small and square kitchens fit more for function than fun. Many of our renovations begin with homes like these — they were built to fit life almost 25 years ago, but many of the families who settled in them are looking for something new that fits their life now.

Our Dawn Brook renovation project is a perfect example of this, and truly a testament to how much potential lies in these homes. Our expert Kitchen & Bath Designers worked hard to bring this dream kitchen to reality, and for the first time, we'll take you behind-the-design on this kitchen + bath renovation in The Woodlands!

• Built-out a butler's pantry where the old range and pantry were, creating a brand new floor plan and "bonus" space in this once small kitchen

• Reframed windows and raised ceilings make the shared space feel so much bigger, as more natural light poured in and ceiling height was raised

• Designed a brand-new Modern Farmhouse kitchen! Everything was "gutted" and rethought, resulting in a space that earns its spot as one of our most dramatic transformations

Butler's Pantry

As one of our favorite additions to this transformation, we built out a custom butler's pantry where the old range + pantry used to be. This new space includes ...

• Wet bar & dishwasher for dirty dishes and catering events

• Custom wine storage for this family's treasured collection

• Custom storage! Storage and organization was a key priority for this project, and this space was built for it!

• Coffee bar to house this family's coffee collection

• Open shelving to display special pieces

• A custom barn door with sliding function to "hide" the space when not in use!

Breakfast Nook

We designed this new breakfast nook to be filled with natural light, in addition to accommodating much-needed storage, and access to the beautiful backyard.

Living Room

In this updated living space, we designed ...

• Custom reclaimed beams to draw your eye up to the ceiling

• Hand-laid stonework on the fireplace

• Removed the archway to open up and bring the two spaces together visually. To create a sense of division between the two spaces, we instead opted for a behind-the-sofa console table

• Brand new finishes with a light & bright paint palette
